From the Colorado Springs Gazette October 8th, 2014 “According to the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, home sales and prices rose again last month which is a 24% jump from the same month last year and the fourth time in the last five months that sales have increased. Last month’s sales also were the highest number for any September since 2005. Year-to-date home sales are running slightly ahead of 2013. Home sales for the first nine months of the year are up 1.2% over the same period last year. The median price of homes sold rose to $225,000 in September, up 5.6% from the same month in 2013 and have increased five straight months on a year-over-year basis.”
The article also mentions that inventory (the number of homes currently on the market) is down. With inventory down 5.9% from this time last year, “homeowners stand a better chance of getting their asking price when it’s time to sell”.
